Hawai‘i Agricultural Foundation Accepting Applications on a Rolling Basis
HONOLULU, HAWAI‘I (October 7, 2013) – The Hawai‘i Agricultural Foundation (HAF) announced today that it will begin accepting applications on a rolling basis for lands that become available on its 182-acre HAF Ag Park at Kunia (formerly known as Kunia Ag Park). It currently has approximately 18 acres available, 6 acres in Parcel 2 and 12 acres in Parcel 3. Applications will be accepted throughout the year with review of the applications when lands become available. Applications will be reviewed and scored by the HAF Ag Park Committee with final approval by the board. Successful applicants will be notified accordingly should they be selected.
The application materials are available on the Application page and must be submitted to HAF, P.O. Box 236010, Honolulu, HI 96823 by October 16, 2013 for Ag Park 2 and 3. A tour of the Park will be conducted on Monday, October 14, 2013. The 182-acre Kunia Ag Park was established through a partnership between Island Palm Communities, Monsanto and the Hawai‘i Agricultural Foundation. The mission of the Hawai‘i Agricultural Foundation is to promote the long-term viability and increase awareness and appreciation of agriculture and farming in Hawai‘i through research, education, training, partnerships and public outreach. The Foundation’s program priorities include: Technical Assistance and Farmer Educational Outreach, Ag in the Classroom, Branding and Public Awareness and Promoting Sustainability and Food Security.
