Donations to the Hawai'i Farmers Disaster Relief Fund is helping farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural food producers across Hawai'i recover from the devastating 2026 Kona Low storms.
HAF and Hawai'i Farm Bureau awarded more than $550,000 statewide. The fund was established through a coordinated effort between the Hawai'i Agricultural Foundation (HAF) and Hawai'i Farm Bureau (HFB) following the storms. Individuals, private foundations, corporations, and community partners responded with an extraordinary outpouring of support, which is providing direct financial assistance to Hawai'i’s agricultural community.
More than 300 applications were received from across the state. HAF and HFB, with assistance from the North Shore Economic Vitality Partnership, carefully reviewed applications and awarded grants of up to $10,000 to farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural food producers to help with recovery.
Mahalo to every donor who contributed to help give much needed assistance to the people behind Hawai'i’s local food system.
The Need Continues
The Kona Low storms were not the end of the challenges facing Hawai'i agriculture. Since then, Hurricanes Lala, Lowell and Nolo have brought additional rain, flooding, and strong winds to the islands.
Supporting Hawai'i’s agricultural community requires both helping producers recover after disaster and ensuring resources are available when the next challenge comes.
The Hawai'i Farmers Disaster Relief Fund continues to accept donations. Contributions will help HAF and HFB respond to the ongoing and future needs of Hawai'i’s agricultural community.
We are honored to recognize the farmers and agricultural businesses across Hawai'i who received support through the Hawai'i Farmers Disaster Relief Fund.
