Grant Applications Open for Ag Industry Impacted by Kona Low Storms

Grant applications are now being accepted for the Hawaiʻi Farmers Disaster Relief Fund, which provides financial assistance to farmers, ranchers, fishers, and agricultural businesses impacted by the 2026 Kona Low storms. Eligible agricultural producers are encouraged to apply by July 31, 2026, for assistance with unmet disaster-related recovery needs as they work to recover and rebuild.

Nine HIDOE School Kitchen Teams Advance to Inaugural Localicious® School Kitchen Cook-off

Nine school kitchen teams from Hawai‘i Island and O‘ahu have been selected to compete in the first-ever Localicious® School Kitchen Cook-off at the Hawai‘i State Farm Fair on July 12. The competition celebrates the creativity of Hawai‘i's school kitchen professionals while supporting efforts to increase the use of locally grown, raised, and caught ingredients in public schools. Join us to cheer on the teams, discover innovative school meal creations, and enjoy a full day of food, agriculture, and family-friendly activities at the fair.

More Than $350,000 Raised to Support Hawaiʻi's Agricultural Community

When the 2026 Kona Low storms impacted farms and agricultural businesses across Hawaiʻi, our community responded with extraordinary generosity. Through a collaborative effort led by Hawaiʻi Agricultural Foundation and Hawaiʻi Farm Bureau, individuals, businesses, foundations, organizations, and community partners came together to raise more than $350,000 for the Hawaiʻi Farmers Disaster Relief Fund.
