Hawaiʻi Agricultural Foundation (HAF) invites Oʻahu HIDOE and public charter school teachers to get hands-on with agriculture at a special teacher workshop on Friday, August 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Hawaii Agriculture Research Center in Kunia.
Teachers can choose from two HAF programs: Where Would We Be Without Seeds? for grades K–3 or Veggie U for grades 3–5. During the workshop, teachers will experience curriculum activities firsthand, learn how to use the program tools and materials, and leave ready to bring hands-on agriculture learning into their classrooms. Participants receive an NGSS-aligned curriculum, classroom kit and ongoing support from HAF throughout the school year.
As a special part of the August 21 workshop, participants will also visit Nalo Farms in Kunia to experience local agriculture first-hand and make connections they can bring back to their students.
With support from the State of Hawaiʻi, there is no cost for HIDOE and public charter school teachers to participate.
