More Than $350,000 Raised to Support Hawaiʻi's Agricultural Community

When the 2026 Kona Low storms caused widespread damage to farms and agricultural businesses across Hawaiʻi, our community responded with extraordinary generosity.

Through a collaborative effort led by the Hawaiʻi Agricultural Foundation and Hawaiʻi Farm Bureau, individuals, businesses, foundations, organizations, and community partners from across Hawaiʻi — and even beyond our islands — came together to support local agriculture. Together, they contributed more than $350,000 to the Hawaiʻi Farmers Disaster Relief Fund, providing critical assistance for farmers, ranchers, fishers, and agricultural businesses working to recover and rebuild.

Support came in many forms. Community members made individual donations, businesses and organizations rallied their employees and customers, and partners found creative ways to raise awareness and funds. Among those efforts, Kyo-ya Hotels & Resorts invited its guests to support the fund through a special fundraising campaign, helping expand both awareness of and financial support for Hawaiʻi's agricultural community.

Because of your support, grant applications are now being accepted from eligible agricultural producers impacted by the Kona Low storms. If you know a farmer, rancher, fisher, or agricultural business that may be eligible, we encourage you to help spread the word. Learn more about the grant program, eligibility requirements, and how to apply.
