Localicious® Hawaiʻi Art and Recipe Contest

Presented by Hawaiʻi Gas

My Localicious® Lunch

Design Your Ultimate School Lunch Plate

The Hawaiʻi Gas Presents Localicious Art & Recipe Contest is an extension of the Hawaiʻi Agricultural Foundation’s (HAF) Localicious Hawaiʻi program.  The contest comprises two segments: an art contest designed for students in grades K-6 and a recipe contest tailored for those in grades 7-12.

The theme for this year encourages students to reflect on the significance of maintaining a healthy diet at school while also promoting the well-being of Hawaii’s local farmers and producers. With over 100,000 meals served daily during the school year by the Hawaii Department of Education, there is a current goal to have 30% of the food in public schools sourced locally by 2030. Through the Contest, students have the opportunity to actively contribute to the choices of food served in their school cafeteria.
